Thank you for the Music / Thank me for my writing

A tongue-in-cheek ditty to the tune of Abba’s “Thank you for the Music”, in response to the Daily Post writing challenge, ‘To the tune of…’  And of course this is not meant to be autobiographical. Am I THAT conceited **rolls eyes** ??

“Thank me for my Writing”

I’m rather special, in fact I’m a notable score

If I tell a joke, you’ll roll on the floor and will roar

For I have a talent, for wonderful prose

And everyone listens when I get verbose

I’m so gifted it’s true

And I want you to stop feeling blue

*

So you should

Thank me for my stories, the words I’m writing

I saved your life, I know I’m awesome

Who can live without me, my witty repartee

Conceitedly

There’s no song and dance can touch me

So you can thank me for my stories

The best that there can be

*

Teacher said I was a writer before I could talk

She said I could write before my peers could crawl

But I’ve never questioned why, I’m just so good

I’m the best wordsmith, in my neighbourhood

Can you deny that?

Well, if you can, don’t try, it’s not true

*

So you should

Thank me for my stories, the words I’m writing

I saved your life, I know I’m awesome

Who can live without me, my witty repartee

Conceitedly

There’s no song and dance can touch me

So you can thank me for my stories

The best that there can be

You are so lucky, to know the guy with the golden pen

You should shout it out to everybody

You’re so kind, no it’s true, I’m the best!

*

So you should

Thank me for my stories, the words I’m writing

I saved your life, I know I’m awesome

Who can live without me, my witty repartee

Conceitedly

There’s no song and dance can touch me

So you can thank me for my stories

The best that there can be
